Paul E. Himes

Paul E. Himes

President / CEO

Paul Himes is President and Chief Executive Officer of Himes Associates, Ltd. He is thoroughly involved with the production of all development, program and construction management projects. Paul is directly responsible for all consulting services, as well as the strategic aspects of Himes including but not limited to the structure of the deal, structure of development and construction and design team composition. Himes’ work is strictly from an owner’s advocate position, regardless of the contractual role that Himes may take.

When not in the office, Paul enjoys speaking publicly to local, national and international audiences about topics such as real estate support disciplines, project management development, construction consulting objectives and construction litigation. He is also a founding faculty member, with the support of George Mason University and the International Facility Managers Association, of the facility management certification educational curriculum at GMU. Paul is an active private pilot and flies missions regularly in support of Angel Flight and additional charity benefits. He also enjoys travelling, photography, reading and scuba diving.

Lauren Duvall

Principal at Himes Project Management

Lauren Duvall is a Principal and the President of Himes Project Management, LLC, a Small, Women-Owned and Minority-Owned Business Enterprise. Lauren is a results-oriented professional with extensive experience managing and consulting on projects in local, state and federal government, utilities and capital infrastructure, education and civil development. Her unique background in environmental project management further strengthens our team’s ability to add as much value and savings to our clients as possible.

Lauren enjoys her time outside of the office with her family and friends, husband, their three mutts and respite home to foster children. She is an avid private pilot and enjoys all aspects of general aviation as well as scuba diving, travelling, music, being outdoors and RVing.

Bruce Graham

Bruce Graham

Chief Operating Officer

Bruce Graham provides operational direction for our Chicago regional office via a varied background in construction. With 25 years of general contracting experience and another 15 years in corporate services, Bruce has led teams of architects, engineers, developers, realtors and other construction professionals to produce high quality results and substantial savings. Prior to joining Himes, Bruce led the construction division of a major corporate services firm responsible for 2.3 billion dollars annually. Innovation and construction methods and techniques are his specialty.

Away from the office, Bruce enjoys many outdoor activities including boating, running and hiking, and building “things”.

Mike Swingle

Senior Project Manager

Mike Swingle has been with Himes Associates for over 20 years and leads the Himes Tenant Interiors and Base Building Division.  With his extensive background in entitlements, team building, procurements, master project scheduling, logistics and project budgeting, Mike has successfully managed the completion of over 8 million SF of corporate office space during his time with Himes.

Away from the office Mike enjoys cooking, hockey, lacrosse, college football, coaching youth sports, and above all spending time exploring new destinations with his wife and two children!

Becky Reano-Konieczny

Financial Manager

Becky is the Financial Manager at Himes Associates, Ltd. and brings outstanding management, organization and support to our overall team and clients.  She handles all the financial aspects of the firm and has been a very valuable asset to the team for over 15 years.  Away from the office, Becky enjoys spending time with her husband, children and their dog.

Mark Duval

Mark Duval is a Project Executive and has worked in Construction Project Management his entire career. Commercial, Medical, Laboratory, Industrial and Mission Critical projects have taken him around the United States and to Mexico, Singapore and Saipan. Mark believes a project must “start right in order to finish right” and presents this concept to his clients.

Brian is a Senior Project Manager and Account Executive who’s experience includes a diverse portfolio of construction projects for both Federal and Fortune 500 companies nationwide. His extensive experience within all phases of project delivery enable him to bring a valuable perspective and high-level customer service to a variety of clients and markets. Brian has a proven a track record of successfully managing multiple organizational design and construction programs.  He strongly values one our Himes’ Core Principles:  operating with integrity at all times.

While not at work, Brian enjoys spending time with his wife on the water, sailing, scuba diving and traveling to new places.

Chris Kelly

Senior Project Manager

Chris Kelly is a Senior Project Manager providing leadership and oversight to Himes projects throughout Maryland. He currently serves as the Project Executive for our clients in the Baltimore region. Chris joined the Himes team in 2016 bringing a diverse background of construction experience including complex base-building projects, major renovations, and mission critical work ranging from Healthcare to Higher Education to Commercial Real Estate. This unique range of experience has enabled Chris the ability to support clients in different market sectors with industry specific knowledge and understanding.

Chris achieved a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland College Park with a dream to design and build bridges. After working with an ENR top 100 contractor right out of school, he caught the commercial construction bug and has never looked back. In his free time, Chris enjoys travelling with his wife and daughter, getting out in nature and enjoying the local cultural scene in Baltimore.

Andrew Watson

Senior Project Manager

Andrew Watson is an experienced industry professional who spearheads the Himes’ Mission Critical Division.  He manages all aspects of Data Center project management, with a passion for MEP equipment given his background in Mechanical Engineering.  While at Himes, Andrew’s portfolio has included over 1 billion dollars of data center construction and fit-out.  A collaborative member of the Northern Virginia mission critical community, Andrew extensively networks within the industry through his 7×24 DC Chapter Treasury and Community Outreach Committee Memberships.  He is also a member of AFCOM’s Potomac Chapter and regularly attends CAPRE, BISNOW, NVTC, and DC Connections events.  Away from the office Andrew is a devoted father to his daughter. He is active within Scouts BSA as a District Eagle Representative, Cub Scout Den Leader and Troop Assistant Scoutmaster.  He enjoys camping, golfing, working out, reading, video gaming and playing classical guitar.

Dennis received his degree in Architecture from the Pennsylvania State University and has been practicing as a registered architect and project manager for over 30 years.  He has held key management positions in ENR top 500 Architecture and Engineering firms and has been involved in all aspects of project development.  Dennis’ experience includes programming and design, project management, office management, construction documentation and construction administration.  His expertise in Project Management covers a wide range of project types including: complex high-tech and mission critical projects such as a micro-chip manufacturing facility, radar test complexes, software and electronics development labs with high levels of physical and electronic security requirements (SCIFS and RF shielded anechoic chambers), education facilities for science and technology as well as commercial office and retail facilities. 

Dennis and his wife live in the Washington D.C. metro area with their four children who range in age from 8 to 16.

Laurel Protexter is a Project Manager at Himes Associates. She received her degree in 3D Design from The University of Iowa where she designed and built her own furniture as well as designed and 3D printed household products. Laurel started off working as a project engineer for a commercial construction company in Iowa. In 2017 Laurel moved to Chicago on her career path. Her construction experience ranges from new buildings mixed with restored structures, renovations and caisson work. Laurel has a background of construction experience including Commercial Real Estate, Healthcare and Higher Education as well as Residential Real Estate. Laurel says that her favorite thing about her work, is the people.

Laurel enjoys her time outside the office getting creative in the kitchen, cooking up a storm and hosting events. She enjoys any outdoor adventure, sightseeing, live music, reading, drawing and designing.

Emily Lumley is a Marketing Coordinator and Executive Assistant for Himes Associates, Ltd.

Emily received her Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from Old Dominion University, located in the city of Norfolk, close to her hometown of Smithfield, Virginia.

Emily has knowledge and experience with producing digital and print based media, database organization, and maintaining all standard office procedures.

Emily is happy to be a part of a wonderful team here at Himes Associates.

In her free time, Emily enjoys hiking with her yellow lab Lily, photography, working out, painting and exploring the D.C. Metro area.

Brandy is a Project Coordinator who supports the Himes Team as well as our clients from pre-construction through closeout and/or commissioning.  She is a knowledgeable, dedicated professional with extensive experience in property management and client services.  Brandy is consistently contributing to our clients’ success through her exemplary passion for developing relationships, cultivating partnerships and optimizing processes.  Brandy has lived in Northern Virginia her entire life and enjoys living in this region with her boyfriend and rescue puppy, Collette.  She loves spending quality time with family and friends!

Coco’s main job duties include chasing stuffed animals, picking up crumbs that have fallen on the floor and finding the sunny spot in the office to nap. When not at work, Coco enjoys going on adventures with our CEO Paul Himes in his airplane, trying new treats and meeting new people.
