Project Scope

Himes Associates, Ltd. worked closely with The George Washington University on Management services for various projects throughout the campus. The range of management services included Project Management, Development Management and Construction Management.

Himes Associates was responsible for the management of multiple buildings on campus that encompassed nearly 600,000 SF of space. Included in these facilities were an 180,000 SF Recreational Sports Complex that included racquetball and squash courts, swimming pool and workout facilities. Also, a 180,000 SF Media Building complete with TV studio, auditorium, classrooms and offices was managed by Himes. Most recently, Himes helped manage the closeout of GWU’s new 240,000 SF School of Business and Public Management.

Some of these responsibilities for these projects included interacting with the contractor and architects to ensure contractual drawings and specifications are meet University standards and overseeing the completion of the punchlist and the commission of equipment. Additional services included meeting and interacting with Foggy Bottom neighborhood residents to gain feed back on construction; review contractor payment applications and contract change orders for accuracy and completeness; and coordinate with university security to provide end users with adequate protection.
