Project Scope

Himes Associates, Ltd. provided full Project Management services which included: land acquisition support, design consultant procurement, program management, general contractor and vendor procurements, construction project management and relocation management for LTI’s Headquarters Building and Campus. This was the centerpiece of LTI’s $100 Million worldwide facility upgrade and expansion in the mid-90’s. The project consisted of master planning the entire facility campus, and the construction of two buildings in the first phase; a new Commons/Administration building of approximately 46,000 SF, and a Research & Development Laboratory building of 140,000 SF.

The Commons building includes conferencing facilities, administrative office space, a 75-seat food service component and a fully operational demonstration laboratory. The R&D building holds 21 large bay laboratories for the various research functions as well as small scale-up and batch processing functions. The central utilities were designed to meet the ultimate campus needs, and could be quickly augmented with no disruption to the existing operations. The full manufacturing of the biotech products was performed in their Frederick Maryland facility.

The project was delivered on time and under the board-approved budget. The campus planning easily accommodated the next phase project, a 60,000 SF corporate office building.
